Torah kids!
Outreach ministry that
anyone can do, you just have to have a heart for God and help kids learn the
commandments of God called Torah.
Matthew 19:14But Jesus
said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of
such is the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 18:14"Even so
it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones
should perish.
Matthew 5:19 "Whoever
therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so,
shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but
whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven
In these last days before
the Lord’s soon return thing are going to go from bad to worse.
Little and even bigger kids
will be very concerned about what is going on? Why is this happening? The world
is being judged for not being Torah observant, for not obeying the instructions
of God.
In these trying times we
need to get Torah and the blessings from Torah into the little kids and even
into bigger kids too. Everyone needs to be Torah observant.
Parents and even those
concerned can help this crisis situation by helping all these kids by helping
them to learn Torah, the commandments of God. These are found in the first five
books of the Bible and it is a major
theme throughout the Bible for everyone to keep all the commandments
of God.
Yeshua primary ministry
doctrine is for everyone to always keep the commandment of God
John 14:15 "If you
love Me, keep My commandments. (The Lord’s commandments are called Torah)
What you teach them young
stays with them Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when
he is old he will not depart from it.
What to do this late in the
times that we are in. Teach them Torah day and night. Explain what Torah is. It
is the instructions of God for everyone to live by.
Where to begin? Always
teach kids to memorize Torah. The Hebraic perspective is that a person life is
like to an empty vessel that needs to fill up with Torah, like pouring the
living water of God into a person’s life to always live by.
At each Shabbat we often
recite the Shema, Deuteronomy 6:4-5, which Yeshua called the greatest
commandment of all.
Memorize the top ten list
the first of the ten commandments and explain what it means. We are to learn all
the commandments of God and to keep everyone of them.
So important is to teach
children how to spot a “false prophet” which is someone who teaches people
away from keeping any of the commandments of God. Deuteronomy
13 Everyone needs to fully reject those who teach people away from
the need for keeping any of the commandments of God.
Often I see various
celebrities, politicians and others on the news and elsewhere who constantly are
teaching away from Torah. Some teach for pro gay agenda or rights or teach to be
gay tolerant or some other kind of evil that is contrary to having a righteous
walk with God which is called being Torah observant. Use those various video
clips as examples of what a “false prophet” would say or what their
dumb comment is about. Kids can bring in newspaper clippings, a show and tell
kind of thing. Be creative. We are
commanded by God to always fully reject false prophets. False prophets are no
one to look up to what so ever. So when you watch a TV show or movie, ask kids
if the actors were teaching for Torah or not. Drama's and such have good guys
and bad guys. It is not necessarily the actor himself that is bad guy, but what
the bag guy actor said or portraying that made the actor or actress a bad
person. Also teach for a proper discernment and never teach for political
correctness.
Teach for a proper
discernment as well.
John 7:23 "If a man
receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be
broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the
Sabbath?
John 7:24 "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."
Avoid hyper legalism. We
are commanded to always to be Torah observant. Some sects of Judaism
"the Pharisees" which are today's modern Orthodox Jews tend to add
their precepts "rules for understanding of Torah" and could not make a
right judgments.
Matthew 12:10 And behold,
there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, "Is it
lawful to heal on the Sabbath?"--that they might accuse Him.
Matthew 12:11 Then He said to them, "What man is there among you who has
one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it
and lift it out?
Matthew 12:12 "Of how much more
value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the
Sabbath."
Matthew 12:13 Then He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he
stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other.
Matthew 12:14 Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they
might destroy Him.
It is not forbidden in
Torah to do a "good deed" on the Sabbaths
The Pharisee then which are
the Orthodox Jews of today place their sect of Judaism with its teaching
for "oral traditions" as being equal with Torah. It is not.
Matthew 5:20 "For I
say to you, that unless your righteousness (true Torah observance) exceeds the
righteousness (Oral traditions teachings) of the scribes and Pharisees, you
will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven
The Pharisee's then which
are today's Orthodox Jews practice extra Biblical practices which in effect has
nullified, made void "Gods law" the Torah in their life. Would
you add urine to a nice cold glass of milk?
Deuteronomy 12:32
"Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it
nor take away from it.
Be sure to teach kids never
put anything before Torah. You never put "political correctness" or
anything else before Torah ! NEVER !
Never compromise your walk
with God. Always instill in kids and everyone the incredible importance of
never compromising their Torah walk with God.
Yeshua when tempted by the
devil He only used passages from Torah to rebuke the devil.
Knowing and memorizing
Torah is more powerful than any evil or any devil. Our Lord Yeshua is our
example to live by.
Matthew 4 “Jesus
is tested in the wilderness”
1 Then Jesus was led by the
Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty
days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If
you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is
written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from
the mouth of God.’”
Deuteronomy 8Deu
8:3"… man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every [word]
that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.
5 Then the devil took him
to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If
you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “‘He
will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their
hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a
stone.”
7 Jesus answered him, “It
is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.”
Deut 6:16"You shall
not tempt the LORD your God as you tempted Him in Massah.
8 Again, the devil took him
to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their
splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and
worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him,
“Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and
serve him only.”
Deuteronomy 6:13"You
shall fear the LORD your God and serve Him, and shall take oaths in His name.
11 Then the devil left him,
and angels came and attended him.
The use of Hebraic testing
During the times of Yeshua,
little kids were taught Torah from a very early age and usually start with the
book of Leviticus. Hebraic testing use to be a very common practice for teaching
kids Torah.
Matthew
5:17 "Do not think that
I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to
fulfill. (Teach correctly)
The word fulfill that Jesus
used here means to teach the Bible “correctly.” The two words destroy and
fulfill, are extremely common phrases that rabbis used back in the day, when
teaching kids and others Torah “correctly” and why Jesus used them, to
remind them of their childhood Torah school days
The teacher or rabbi would
teach in both a positive application and also in a false application. Sort of
like flash cards. The kids “students” would respond back to the teacher’s
remark regarding a Torah commandment
question or remark made by the teacher, “teach teaches to fulfill Torah”
that is to teach Torah correctly or kids would respond back “teacher teaches
to destroy Torah” that is to teach Torah incorrectly. You can work out your
own appropriate responses i.e., teacher is teaching correctly or teacher is a
false or lying. Etc. The concept is
to instill it in their minds as a reflex.
Torah is powerful, it is
God breathed. Learn what Torah passages our Lord used for defeating the devil
and teach those to your students.
Read Torah, the first five
books of the Bible to them day and night. Have them read Torah to you.
Kids are empty vessels that
need to fill up with God’s love called Torah, the instructions of God.
Kids are like sponges and
enjoy soaking up information and God wants to help you with this. You want them
to soaking up on Torah
Learn the various metaphors
for Torah.
Torah is the Way, the Truth
and the Life
The Way
Exodus 18:20 "And you
shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show
them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do.
Deuteronomy 26:16
"This day the LORD your God commands you to observe these statutes and
judgments; therefore you shall be careful to observe them with all your heart
and with all your soul.
Deuteronomy 26:17 "Today you have proclaimed the LORD to be your God, and
that you will walk in His ways and
keep His statutes, His commandments, and His judgments, and that you will obey
His voice.
Deuteronomy 26:18 "Also today the LORD has proclaimed you to be His special
people, just as He promised you, that you should keep all His commandments,
Deuteronomy 26:19 "and that He will
set you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in
honor, and that you may be a holy people to the LORD your God, just as He has
spoken."
The Truth
Psalm 119:142 Your
righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your Torah is truth. (
Righteousness only means having a true proper walk with God. A
Torah walk is a righteous walk for everyone to have).
The Life
Proverbs 7:2 Keep my
commands and live, And my law as the apple of your eye.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto
him, I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Proverbs 3:18 She is
a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her.
Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins
souls is wise.
Revelation 22:14 Blessed
are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the
tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
The light
Proverbs 6:23 For the
commandment is a lamp; and the TORAH is LIGHT; and reproofs of instruction are
the way of life
Psalm 119:105 Your Torah is
a lamp to my feet And a light to my path
Here
is printable copy of The
Mezuzah: We are commanded to post this on our doors or door posts
as a constant reminder of God presence and to remind us to keep all the
commandments of God. Deuteronomy
6:4-9 and Deuteronomy 11:13-12. The
wearing of Tzitzit “tassels” is a commandment. Numbers 15:38-39 "And you shall
have the tassel,(blue thread) that you may look upon it and remember all the
commandments of the LORD and do them, and that you may not follow the harlotry
to which your own heart and your own eyes are inclined,
1John 2:4 He who says,
"I know Him," (Yeshua) and does not keep His commandments
(God's laws), is a liar, and the truth (Torah) is not in him
Keeping all the Sabbaths of
the Lord is so critical, Leviticus 23.
These are Devine mandatory
appointments with God. You want to be there on the correct day not some
covenant time for you!
Teach the kids the
importance of keeping all the Sabbaths of the Lord and what they are about.
God will only remember His
children by those who keep His Sabbaths. (Leviticus
23, Exodus 31:13, Isaiah 56:3-6 and Isaiah 66:22-23)
If you don’t have a local
place to fellowship for a weekly Saturday Sabbath gathering, then start one.
Host a Saturday Sabbath gathering for kids, bigger kids and such and start
teaching Torah to the kids.
Some fellowships I know are
creative and use teaching aids like puppets to teach Torah and Bible songs to
the kids. Design a program to get kids to learn how to be Torah observant.
1John 5:3 For this is the
love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not
burdensome
Spending time with God is
supposed to be an all day event of spending time with God.
Work it as best you can and be creative. Many fellowships have onegs
“pot lucks.” It’s a great way
to get to know others at Sabbath gatherings
Remember it’s all things
by prayer. Teach kids to always pray and always seek Yeshua for help and
guidance in all things
Our Lord and Savior Yeshua
would dearly love to help you big time for teaching kids to always be Torah
observant. Yeshua wants kids to know Him and to love him so He can bless
them, guide them and be there for them always.
The world is not a kind
place and you’re not always able there to be there for them. Yeshua is our
watchman who never sleeps wants to be there for them in times of trials and
difficulties but you have to know the instructions of God in order for God to
guide their lives.
Have a mid week gathering
for kids and bigger kids at someone's home. Give a simply homework assignment
each time to learn a Torah passage and to memorize it.
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus
said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of
such is the kingdom of heaven."
