Yom
Kippur "The Day of Atonement”
Jesus began His ministry on
Yom Kippur and this also was a Jubilee year as well.
We read Luke's account of
this from Luke 4:16-21
Just before this Jesus was
tempted in the wilderness during the 30 days of the month of Elul plus the
first 10 days for Tishri.
This gives us Jesus time
frame of the 40 days in the wilderness.
Lord Jesus “Yeshua”
will return to earth on Yom Kippur 2015 which is
Yom Kippur is often regarded as the most important day after the weekly Shabbat!
It begins on the 10th day of Tishri on the Jewish calendar "God's calendar."
Yom Kippur is a day when
everyone can experience a new beginning and this foreshadows God’s plan for
the final disposition of sin and renewing of the earth for the 1000 year reign
of the Messiah of Israel.
Yom Kippur is a complete
Sabbath in that no work is to be done on this day.
A Jewish idiom for Yom Kippur
is “The Fast.” Another Jewish idiom for Yom Kippur is “Face to
Face” which is when the high priest comes “Face to Face” with the Lord.
Remember the Lord
returns on Yom Kippur 2015 and the nations of the world will be judged
according to how they treated the Jewish people. Matthew 25:31-46
Genesis 12:2 And I will
make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and
thou shalt be a blessing:
Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that
curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Love the nation of Israel
and all the Jews everywhere or perish!
Our Lord Jesus “Yeshua” when He started His ministry read from Isaiah 61:1-2 and stopped in the middle of the reading as we know this from Luke account found in Luke 4:16-21
Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of
the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good
tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim
liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Isaiah 61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
The second part of where
Jesus stopped reading and won’t apply till His second coming on Yom Kippur 2015.
Isaiah 61:2 (the second
part) and the day of vengeance of our
God; to comfort all that mourn;
The day of vengeance is for
our Lord Jesus “Yeshua” second coming. His second coming will occur on Yom
Kippur of 2015. This will be a Jubilee year as well.
Our Lord Jesus “Yeshua” kept “all the feasts of the Lord” Leviticus 23 Everyone is commanded to keep all the feasts of the Lord.
Here is Luke’s
recounting of Jesus keeping Yom Kippur.
Luke 4:16 And he came
to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into
the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
Luke 4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And
when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to
preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set
at liberty them that are bruised,
Luke 4:19 To preach the acceptable year (Jubilee year) of the Lord.
Luke 4:20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister,
and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened
on him.
Luke 4:21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in
your ears
During a Yom Kippur, the book of Jonah is usually read. Jonah is regarded as a successful prophet. Able to convince others to change their ways. To
During Lord Jesus
"Adonai Yeshua's" ministry. Yeshua prophesized of the 3 days and 3 nights
of death and being raised again overcoming death as our First Fruits!
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas
was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be
three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Matthew 12:41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation,
and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas;
and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
While Rosh Hashanah is the day of remembering with the focus on repentance “to return to God” to walk with God again! Yom Kippur is about praying to God directly for forgiveness. It is holiday when your life and future is held in the balance.
Yom Kippur is one of the
most solemn holidays in Judaism for everyone.
Yom Kippur is to be day of
fasting and of lots and lots of prayer, confessing of all your sins and asking
for forgiveness.
Often there is also the blowing of the tekiah gedolah, a long
blast on the shofar.
At the end of some Yom
Kippur services you can also find a “break-fast”,
which is a term describing a “break-the-fast dinner” for the very conclusion
of the long day of fasting of praying for the Lord’s for forgiveness.
Yom Kippur was made
for the atonement of Israel so they could atone for the nations of the world on
upcoming the Feast of Tabernacles!
The feast of Tabernacle
"Sukkoth" beginning five days after Yom Kippur! This is a seven day
feast with a special eighth day "Shemini Atzeret"
Look up the Fall Modems
“Modems means commanded Devine appointments with God for EVERYONE to keep!
We teach for being Torah observant only. We do not endorse Orthodox Judaism "The Pharisees", because they teach for Oral Traditions as being equal with Torah, it is not equal. The Orthodox Jews also teach for Kabbalah which everyone needs to fully reject.
